Childlife-A future for street children in Mae Sai
The projects in Mae Sai
Three years ago Pi Ngaow , a 28 year old Thai, decided to work as a volunteer at DEPDC in Mae Sai after he had studied arts in Bangkok. While the two years he worked in DEPDC he realized that he himself wants to help disadvantaged children in the region. In the meantime Pi Ngaow is taking care of 100 children in the following projects:

street children
Akkha forest children dumpster children
HIV-children: we repspect the childrens' dignity and don't publish theit photos here
Pi Ngaow also founded the Patak Culture Conservation Group, which with the
support of local monks keeps the traditions of the hill tribes. Through various
cultural activities the children also develop more self esteem and pride for their culture.

What would Ngaow, the children and the project be without Ann?

The 23 year old Thai herself was a student at DEPDC and then went to college in Chiang Rai. Apart from working at DEPDC Ann supports Ngaow and the project, takes care of the children, teaches them and also does the book-keeping.
