Childlife-A future for street children in Mae Sai
Surprise visit from Tirol
We have been planning our trip to Thailand
since spring of this year. Therefore, we have
spent many hours on the internet. By chance
we have found the "kinderleben.org" site in
Mae Sai and decided spontaneously to visit
this project house. Ms. Fiedler provided us
some information.
We drove to Mae Sai on September 1, 2001 and asked the tourist police at the border
for the project house. The policeman was very friendly and accompanied us in his car to
show us the way. He had to ask for the way himself a few times.
When we arrived at the project house we met a young girl from Oslo. She told us that
she'd only been here for a few days and helps with the project. We have talked with her
and she showed us the house telling us about the everyday life of the children. Another Thai woman came on her motorcycle and we spoke with her as well. She had then
called Mr. Ralf, who talked to us on the telephone. The other tourists were enthusiastic
about, the engagement of the young people for these poor children. We wanted to make
a contribution as well and gave the Norwegian girl several thousand Baht for the support
of the project. Several photos were made and after receipt of the photos we will send
and publish them over the internet. We were particularly happy that we could be in
Mae Sai at the foundation day of this project in Germany.
When we were at home we have talked about this wonderful trip and decided to continue to support this project. We hope that this project will find a lot of supporting members. Family Zangerle, Haeusler and Muehlberger.
