As
the following newspaper article shows it all began on the
Christmas market in Kornwestheim in the December of 2000,

charity presented the project to
an interested audience at the AWO
meeting center Schafhof,as the
Kornwestheimer Zeitung
reported.
On this occasion
Sabine Schmidt from the AWO Kornwestheim handed over
another donation of 500,-DM to Bernd Fiedler, the second chairman of the
charity " Kinderleben Eine Zukunft für Strassenkinder in Mae Sai e.V."
Aside from the donation the charity also received the promise that the
revenue from their activities at the Christmas market 2001 was going to be
donated once more to the children in Mae Sai .
