Childlife-A future for street children in Mae Sai
Daily life in the house
I was amazed at how mannerly, civilised and disciplined daily life in
the house takes place, especially when considering that there are
50 children of different age, sex, background , all with their own
history of problems, and only so few carers.
It is truly admirable how the children frolic freely around and at the same time accept the necessary rules and
carry out their duties without any complaints.50 children certainly leave their marks, particularly when living
together on so close space, however the courtyard always remains clean and tidy as some children are always
cleaning it. The following pictures should give you an impression of what is going on in and around the house
Before lunch
Vegetables from their own cultivation, which
are not only fresh but also help to save expenses
and is a first step towards self-sufficiency . I
enjoyed watching the children harvesting with
so much happiness and I am glad that the new
house will provide lots of space for cultivating
vegetables
Preparing and cooking the meal, even here children participate alternately. When watching them it doesn't
seem to be unpleasant work for them at all..
Distribution, the children on duty give out food to the other children. The kids wait without any jostling and
naturally all of them thank their friends for the food
