Childlife-A future for street children in Mae Sai

Support in Mae Sai and Thailand
On my visit I was delighted to learn that in the meantime there also is
sporadic help from local people.
For example, the owner of the Superstore market, who came along with all of his
family donating lots of clothes, which were still in a very good condition, as well as making a cash donation. (picture on the right). But this was not all, he also
promised to return in the evening with food for everybody. For the children as
well as us it was a truly ‘princely’ meal and when distributed the food the
children’s eyes were gleaming of joy.

Invitation from the Baptist congregation
The days before Easter the Baptist congregation located in our neighbour-
hood hold children’s days, which some of our children attended as well.
Together with Ngaow I payed them a visit and could see with my own eyes
how our children were playing with the other children light-heartedly , how
the food for the children was being prepared and I was also able to talk to
some of the congregation members.

A suitcase rife with gifts
Thai Airways had granted me an additional baggage allowance of 20 kg,
which I needed to carry all the gifts which I had received from local
Kornwestheim businesses as well as from ordinary Kornwestehim citizens.
The children were overjoyed, regardless whether it was soft toys, rucksacks,
painting books or other gifts they received. I hope that the following pictures
capture some of their joy for you..

Sawadee Krab, goodbye, when the parting hour approached it was not easy for
me , even though it was only two weeks weeks that I had spent there, I still had to
leave behind many new dear friends and was a bit sad.
