Preis 'Molecular Bioanalytics' 2002 goes to US researcher
On 22 April 02, award, donator and endowment "The Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology" awarded the price "Molecular Bioanalytics" to the US researchers Richard Haugland and Lubert Stryer.
Roche Diagnostics GmbH enterprises donates the price endowed with 50.000 Euro for outstanding research work in the field of molecular biological and bio chemical analytics for medical diagnostics and therapy.
This year, the price was awarded to Dr. Richard P. Haugland (left picture), founder and chairman of the firm "Molecular Probes" from Leugene, Oregon, and Professor Lubert Stryer, Standord University, School of Medicine, Stanford, California.
The socially committed scientist and entrepreneur became aware of our project and ChildlifeVision2002 via Internet and after thorough review decided to donate a part of the price for this purpose. .
7.000 US Dollar is about half the sum needed for ChildlifeVision2002. This sum is provided by Richard through a fund, we can use the fund to the extent we will receive other regular donations from 1 Apr 02 being the cutoff date.
Richard whose support is once again highly appreciated on this occasion thus gives an incentive for potential donators since every donated Euro actually doubles through the fund.
