The
School for Life accommodates children from
difficult backgrounds, ensuring their livelihood and respecting their right of pursuit of happiness. The children are supported by psychological and social care and receive a first class education. If necessary they furthermore also receive treatment with lifesaving drugs. School for Life takes an integrated approach working in a network that includes local villages, schools, relatives, friends and neighbours into its work. |

This
is to ensure that the children maintain their social relationships outside
the project.
The children are seen as active creators of their own learning processes. They are interested, motivated and learn from trial and error. A combination of theoretical and practical learning gives them a chance of ‘learning by doing’. The School can be seen like Jule Verne’s base station for expeditions, discoveries and adventures. The acquisition of knowledge and skills ensures the continuation of the projects by the children. The educator no longer is a tamer that treats the children as one bland mass but is rather motivating the individual child accompanying and supporting it on its expeditions and discoveries. School for Life provides small learning centres ‘ centres of excellence’ which are not geared towards specific school subjects but which relate knowledge from different subjects to real life problems and tasks. This encourages the children to solve problems not only on paper but in real life. The following Learning areas are planned: |
